Discover sources

A source is one thing inside a provider: a GitHub repository, a RevenueCat project, a PostHog project. Ubrella never calls these “projects”, even when the provider does — the word project is reserved for the things you ship.

After the first connection

Ubrella lists the sources it found:

Tick the ones that are real, and choose Create projects. Each ticked source becomes a project with the same name, and the source is assigned to it. You can rename projects later.

What happens to the unticked ones

They stay unassigned: visible under Settings → Unassigned sources, assignable at any time — but silent. An unassigned source produces no metrics, no events and no attention items. Your test repositories will not clutter the inbox.

The second provider is different

When you connect a second provider, Ubrella does not create more projects. It looks at the new sources and proposes which existing project each one belongs to. That is the matching step.

Platforms

A project carries platform labels — iOS, Android, Web, Website, API. They are descriptive only; sources attach to the project, never to a platform. Set them on the project’s settings page. Ubrella pre-fills them when it can tell (an App Store app is iOS, a Cloudflare Worker is API).
